Season 2013/14 Presentation


 - I am very glad to announce as the general manager of the Royal Theatre this new and thrilling season which is about to start next september. I have to say that in adittion of this economical crisis time, Royal Theatre productions and artists are in top of the quality you can find where ever.

Next season will include almost 28 operas having 18 new productions and 10 repertory productions. This thrilling 18 new óperas include; L´Elisir D´Amore with Anna Netrebko and Juan Diego Flórez which will open the season and many other such as; Alcina, Peter Grimmes, a new La Traviata, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, a stunning new Falstaff with Plácido Domingo, Renné Fleming, Mattheuw Polenzani.., a great Wagner´s epic final opera Parsifal with Jonas Kauffman and René Pape, Gounod´s Faust with Roberto Alagna and Marina Poplaskaya, Anna Netrebko stars again in Donizetti´s Anna Bolena, Stockhausen´s amazing opera cycle begins this upcoming season with Donnerstag aus Licht starring Richard Croft, Deborah Voigt and Eric Owens, La Clemenza di Titto with Elina Garança, Philip Glass´s incredible masterpiece Satyagraha premieres with Richard Croft, Richard Keiser´s grand opera Croesus with Giuseppe Filianotti, David Daniels, Plácido Domingo and Joyce DiDonato, Verdi´s great mature masterpiece Simon Boccanegra premieres on May with the great Plácido Domingo, Renné Fleming and Marcello Giordani. June begins with two new productions of Rossini´s impulsive Guillaume Tell with Juan Diego Flórez in the title role and Korngold´s Die Tote Stadt starring Jonas Kauffman.
Finally the season ends with two another great productions of Puccini´s Madama Butterfly with Anna Netrebko and Tan Dun´s fascinating opera The First Empereror with the only one Plácido Domingo.

The 2013/14 season also includes 10 revivals, including; Tosca, Der Fiegende Hollander, Don Giovanni, Boris Godunov, Il Pirata, Don Carlo, Rigoletto, Ariadne auf Naxos & La Fille du Regiment.
This season also bring to the audience 10 Great Voices Recitals, includimg; Reneé Fleming, Ramón Vargas, Sondra Ravdanovsky, Juan Diego Flórez, Giuseppe Filianotti, Bryn Terfel, David Daniels, Jonas Kaufmann, Mattheuw Polenzani & Joyce DiDonato.
In adittion to that, Royal Theatre presents also a new cycle of great world orchestras, including Wiener Philarmoniker, Berliner Philarmoniker, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Royal Philarmonic Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Marinsky Theatre Orchestra.
And also we cannot forget about the 2014 Ring Cycles, which will be performed during spring of next year watching again Wagner´s great masterwork.

Les Boreades opens next week!

-Royal Theatre 2012/13 season first baroque masterpiece will be premiered next Friday 5 of April. This Rameau´s rarely performed ópera will be a magical tryp throw an enchanting tale of the Boreades.
In this special occasion Plácido Domingo will star as Borileé, opoosite the lovely Alhise and Abáris performed by great baroque specialist, soprano Reneé Fleming who also will star in season´s final opera "Louise" and ´great countertenor Andras Scholl, accompanied by tenor Paul Groves and in an special colaboration, bass Ruggero Raimondi will appear as the frightneing Boreas.

In adittion to that, one of the world´s greatest baroque specialist conductor William Christie will lead the podium conducting Royal Theatre Orchestra & Chrous in co-operation with Royal Baroque Orchestra.

An Enchanted Christmas

- The Royal Theatre is so happy to share with the audience this marvelous period of the year by celebrating with extraordinary óperas during the following weeks.
Next week we will whatch again alredy Royal Theatre premieres such as La Rondine, a truly love story, and an absolute masterpiece by Giacomo Puccini, starring Angela Gheorgiu and Roberto Alagna, Thomas Hampson & Ferruccio Furlanetto.
Then , the Royal Theatre brings Siegfried , Wagner´s third cycle ópera is now on the stage of the Royal Theatre starring Jay Hunter Morris in the title role, with Bryn Terfel & Deborah Voigt.

In adittion to that new production of Beethoven´s Fidelio was premiered starring Diana Damrau, Rene Pape, James Morris & James Levine in an special co-operation .
You can see that the Royal Theatre has a lot to give every time of the year but specially now in Christmas; also new productions of Rossini´s Le Comte Ory and Massenet´s Thaïs will be premiered at the the Royal Theatre soon,

Opening Night Gala!!

-Since Royal Theatre was born, opening night gala had been not a ordinary gala; for opera lovers and royal theatre regular audience, this gala opens an entire and long season, from september to july 28 óperas will be seen at the Royal Theatre including new productions, best singers and conductors, always in top of quality available nowadays.
Maestro Daniel Oren rides again Royal Theatre Orchestra which will took part in most of the upcoming season productions, in adittion to that Michael Harrison will be in charge of the Royal Theatre Chorus.
On september 1 of this year 2012, Rossini´s "La Cenerentola" opens this grand and expected ópera season, including great mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato in his debut as La Cenerentola at the Royal Theatre, followed by tenor Lawrence Brownlee as Don Ramiro opposite John del Carlo as Don Magnífico. This stellar cast is going to be directed by conductor and Rossini expert Roberto Abbado in the podium with Royal Theatre Orchestra & Chorus.
The opening night gala tickets are included  in theme packages but you can also try to win a single ticket to the gala if you call to  the 656-555-009 or by going to the theatre´s box office. 2012 Wagner Opera Festival

-This upcoming monday, this new annual wagnerian opera festival will begin. During more than one month from July 16  until August 18, Wagner´s 6 greatest óperas will be performed at the new Wagner Royal Opera Hall. The festival includes in first place composer´s famous Ring Cycle´s half with Das Rheingold and Die Walküre followed by sensational revival productions such as Lohengrin,Tristan und Isolde, Der Fliegende Hollander and Rienzi, including also some extraordinary concerts with invited orchestras such as the Royal Philarmonic and world greatest singer´s recital having Ben Heppner, Plácido Domingo, Jay Hunter Morris, Eric Owens,Deborah Voigt & Bryn Terfel which would also appear in some of these óperas.
Also maestro Daniel Oren will also conduct the Royal Theatre Orchestra in the Ring Cycle.
The Royal Theatre Assotiation is really pleased to be followed by such a sensational audience who is always there in each performance enjoying and giving so much confidence and calm to the singers making them to feel like at home. We now can celebrate the pòwerfull end of this season with great satisfaction just for giving the audience a large opera season with a wide repertoire including the best singers in the world and the best conductor and productions. We hope to see you again next season

La Boheme´s new face

-Yesterday, Puccini´s most famous and most performed ópera all over the world was reborn at the Royal Theatre. Royal Theatre´s great ambitious plan of designing a new and completely different porduction has finally succed. This ópera has a big significance in the history of the Royal Theatre, not only the tremendous "verismo" passion which transferes to every people at the theatre, actually it´s fantastic music which in an easy way makes you to feel for each character describing with so many details each scene.
This extraordinary production which also closes the opera season, has a complete different point of view compared to past productions, it is really shokking and big which without any doubt will carry you to an unexpectable travel surrounding love, happiness and finally death.
All these emotions are bringing out by the hands of the Royal Theatre Orchestra & Chorus conducted by and extraourdinary artist, maestro Daniel Baremboin.
Anna Netrebko bring to live again at the Royal Theatre the character of Mimí, followed by outstanding tenors Rolando Villazón & Piotr Bezcala which will share the role of Rodolfo. Sussanah Philips is Musetta and Ludovic Tezier is Schaunard.
